Fashion's Night Out: Part 1

The most buzzed about event to take place in the next few weeks besides fashion week itself, must be Fashion's Night Out. Mayor Michael Bloomberg had all of New York's brightest stars come out to discuss the matter and tease those who wanted more. He opened by saying that the ladies and gentlemen behind him call the shots, "If they say boot cut pants are back in style, then boot cut pants are back in style" and referring to garment district workers as "the best and brightest".

Every designer and their mother, not literally, was present. Alexander Wang, Anna Wintour of course, Kenneth Cole, Mark Badgley and James Mischka, Mary Kate sans Ashley, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, and Tracy Reese just to name a few were all present. According to reports Vera Wang and Zac Posen were chatting incessantly during Bloomberg's speech.

Fashion's Night Out has 1,000 retail stores participating, nearly 200 more than it's premiere last year and will hold a fashion show at the Lincoln Center come August 7th. Tickets are $25 and go on sale August 19th. If you can not make it out, although you really should, then catch the special on CBS, September 14th.
