Once upon a time there was a young designer named Kira Plastinina, who hailed from Russia. And worked over time in the public relations department to get her target market's attention. Countless ads in Seventeen magazine and being a guest speaker at Teen Vogue's Fashion University, anyone?Yes, I remember it all to well, while paying close attention to her fuchsia coloured retail stores and admiring those black and metallic rugby striped hats for $40! A lot has changed since then though. The brand is no longer a name sake label, but relaunched with the title Lublu, Russian for "I Love" and geared towards an older, more sophisticated age bracket, and higher price point.
Either way, when your father is filthy rich and a rather large investor, the possibility of making a return stateside is always in your favor. And you know that I love a good come back.
